Thomas Powers is the author of The Man Who Kept the Secrets: Richard Helms and the CIA (1979), Heisenberg's War: The Secret History of the German Bomb (1993), Intelligence Wars: American Secret History from Hitler to al-Qaeda (2002; revised and expanded edition, 2004), and The Confirmation (2000), a novel. I think this book did a good job of emphasizing the importance of feeling good feelings. I definitely didn't recognize that before; maybe I would try to think positive thoughts about something I wanted and try not to feel fear, but this book emphasizes the importance of feeling positively all of the time. The book is a powerful book of healing and contains very strong, positive and uplifting words.
His Biennale Arte 2015 project, Secret Power, was partly prompted by the impact of NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden's leaks of PowerPoint slides outlining top-secret US telecommunications surveillance programmes to the world media, which began in 2013. Although The Secret Powers of the Moon is an old book, it is still quite easy to get hold of second hand and new.
